Preparation and Dosage
Cold Infusion: Steep 1-2 tablespoons of dried marshmallow root in 1 cup of cold water for 4-8 hours. Strain and drink 2-4 times daily for soothing mucous membranes, digestive issues, or urinary tract infections.
Decoction: A decoction can be made by steeping the root in boiling water for 10-15 minutes, but cold infusion is generally preferred to preserve the mucilage content.
Tincture: Take 2-4 ml of a 1:5 tincture in 25% alcohol, 2-3 times daily.
Poultice: A poultice can be made by mixing powdered marshmallow root with water to apply directly to wounds, burns, or inflamed skin.
Syrup: Marshmallow root syrup can be made by simmering the root in water, straining, and mixing with honey. Take 1-2 teaspoons as needed for coughs or sore throat.

Contraindications
Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: Generally considered safe, but always consult with a healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Blood Sugar Levels: Marshmallow root may lower blood sugar levels, so individuals with diabetes or those on blood sugar-lowering medications should monitor their levels closely.
